Banished from the newfound intellectual freedom of her burgeoning liberal arts experience, Alouette Batteau peeks out from behind the evergreens to share her quarantine-inspired creations. In her debut solo release, “Extra Vacation Days,” Batteau slides to the bottom of the slippery slope of slacker grunge guitar. Gliding through currents like a deep sea diver, her milk and honey vocals find harmony in the cathartic expression of homemade collage-pop. Lavender lyrics mix with periwinkle-blue bass lines, graveyard-grey guitar riffs, and dogwood-rose drum fills, Batteau’s pandemic pop is the perfect playlist for your cellar dwellar dance party.

Alouette Batteau is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music reflects influences ranging from folk rock to new wave, surfing the spectrum from r&b and soul to pure ecstatic pop. Magnetic grooves and cathartic harmonies add to the allure of her intelligent and insightful lyrics, creating a full moon force that’s impossible to resist.

Born in a tidal wave of thunder beats and red violins, Alouette quickly progressed to piano, guitar, bass, and drums. By the time she was ten, she was playing in a band called Belle Amie, holding her own on the drums and singing sweet harmonies with her 10 and 12 year old bandmates.

Now 20, she’s a seasoned veteran, having performed countless shows as the drummer for indie folk rock trio Kalliope Jones and the lead singer for groovy, guitar driven Raspberry Jam. “Extra Vacation Days,” written and recorded during the 2020 quarantine, is her first solo EP. "Turn Me Honest" was released as her second 2020 EP. Her new 2021 hit single, "Speechless," was recorded with her band -- Alex Koester (drums) and John Frazier (bass). They recorded from Minnesota, Louisiana, and Massachusetts.
